With reference to O.O. letter of the 21st April, No.17474/22, and subsequent semi-official correspondence regarding the selection of candidates for the Hong Kong Police Force, we are now completing the selection of the 28 men, and shall be glad to know whether you have heard anything from the Colonial Government regarding the appointment of any of the ex-Inspectors from the Wei-Hai-Wei Force, and if so, whether you can give us any instructions regarding the filling of the remaining vacancies.
